Counselling FAQs

Yes! Counselling can be helpful for many people. The lasting effects of counselling can vary from person to person, and depends on a number of factors, such as the severity of the issue being addressed, the individual’s motivation to change, and the quality of the therapeutic relationship. However, many people report long-lasting benefits from counselling, such as improved self-awareness, increased confidence and self-esteem, and better coping skills.

Counselling is a process that involves working with a trained professional to explore and address mental health concerns, relationship issues, and life challenges. The goal of counselling is to help individuals improve their well-being, gain insight into their thoughts and behaviours, and develop coping skills to manage difficult situations.

Congratulations! You have made the first step toward better health and wellness. You will receive an email that will request that you verify your email address. This ensures that we are communicating with the right person. You will then be emailed a few forms depending on your selected service. Please ensure that these forms are completed prior to your appointment as they are essential for your appointment to proceed. You will receive reminder emails that outline important information, such as the date, time, location, and duration of your appointment. If you have any questions please call us at (403) 507-5650.

The cost of a session will depend on the service that you have selected. Please visit our booking page or call us at (403) 507-5650 to confirm pricing.

It is essential to gather information about your background, preferences, and concerns to make the best match between you and one of our professional counsellors. The therapeutic relationship between a counsellor and their client is crucial to the success of counselling, so by understanding your individual needs and preferences we can help you find a counsellor who is the best fit to provide the support and guidance you need.

Only those who are required to access your information in order to perform their duties will have access to your personal information. Any access to any personal information will be granted only on an as-needed basis governed by appropriate privacy principles and our strict privacy policy.

Yoga FAQs

The Evergreen Wellness yoga studio is located in rural Alberta between Olds and Didsbury. Once you book your appointment you will receive an email with the exact location of the studio. On occasion, yoga classes will be offered at other locations. You will be advised in advance of the location of class that you wish to attend.

We have a variety of class options available for all skill levels. Unless otherwise stated, all classes are open to beginner students as well as students with some experience. Our yoga instructor has the ability to modify the various positions to meet the needs of all skill levels.

We understand that life can get in the way and things may prevent you from attending every class. The initial fee that you pay ensures that a spot is held for you for the entire duration of the series. Because of this, there is no full or partial refund for any classes that are missed.

Yoga is not a substitute for medical attention or treatment. If you have a serious medical condition, yoga may not be considered safe. It is your responsibility to consult with a physician to assess the safety of your participation in yoga prior to attending classes.

While yoga offers the opportunity for relaxation, stress reduction and muscle tension relief, yoga can also include strenuous physical exertion and may cause physical injury and/or emotional stress. If at any time during the class you feel discomfort or strain, please come out of the posture and relax while breathing deeply and calmly on your mat. Respecting and honouring your body’s limitations in yoga practice is essential. Please listen to your body, ask for support from your practitioner and discontinue the position if discomfort arises.

Coaching FAQs

Coaching is a results-oriented profession designed to help people get powerful results that help them make their lives more manageable and enjoyable.

Coaching is a great option for individuals who are motivated and committed to make changes in their lives, but want the accountability and support of someone to help them realize their potential. Through the coaching relationship, greater awareness is achieved so that clients can gain a deeper understanding of themselves and more clarity around what they really want. A coach helps clients to see new perspectives and shift their viewpoints to find new possibilities and opportunities for change.

Coaching and therapy can have some overlap. Therapy is typically focused on helping clients fix problems, overcome issues, and sometimes manage mental health challenges. Coaches do not work with mental health challenges. Coaching is focused on opportunities and solutions. Coaches do not dwell on the past, or try to analyze behaviours. The past is used as a way to learn and grow, but is then released so that clients can move forward. In summary, therapy usually helps the client figure out the “why,” while coaching helps the client focus on the “how.”

Coaching is not a regulated profession. What this means is that anyone can call themselves a coach. Our life coach is professionally trained and certified, having completed 320+ hours of training. She is a Certified Professional Coach, Energy Leadership Master Practitioner, and a COR.E Wellbeing Dynamics Specialist. Our life coach completed her coach training through iPEC, an ICF (International Coach Federation) accredited school.
