About Megan: Text

I'm happy that you've found your way to the website. Reaching out for help and sharing your story can be hard. Let me start with a bit of my own story.

I grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan where small town values of connection, support, honestly, loyalty, friendliness and compassion were instilled in me at a very young age. For most of my life, I have known that I want to help people be the best they can be. This desire to help others, meant that I was often the person people went to when they needed help. At the age of 13 my family moved to Alberta which is where I have called home since.

In 2013, I completed my Honours Bachelor of Social Work degree and was active in supporting my community by volunteering at the Olds Hospital and engaging in community events. I have continued to support my community by working to support families who are struggling with parenting and relationship concerns to find balance and feel confident in managing stressors. I also have supported families who have children with disabilities to enhance their capacity to promote healthy development and growth. I have created as well as facilitated group work with adults, youth, and children with and without special needs.

I really enjoyed the work that I was doing but I felt like I could be doing more which led me to pursue my Masters of Counselling degree in 2018. Through out the completion of this degree, I realized that I wanted to work in private practice and continue to support people to reach their goals.

I currently live in Alberta with my husband and our 2 amazing doggos, Kali and Ruger. My husband and I spend the majority of our free time exploring all that the outdoors has to offer. We enjoy camping, hiking, fishing and taking long walks with our dogs. I'm also an avid baker who enjoys making all kinds of goodies for friends and family.

I look forward to connecting with you!
